Professors Fabio Frezatti and José Afonso Mazzon were elected dean and vice-dean of the School of Economics, Business and Accounting of University of São Paulo (FEA USP) for the 2018-2022 mandate. This is the first time that FEA USP has been elected with a single plate. Frezatti was the head of the Accounting and Actuarial Sciences Department, and Mazzon was head of the Business Department. They taken office last July 16, in the place of the former dean Adalberto Fischmann and the former vice Rodrigo De Losso.
Fabio Frezatti holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from USP. He also held a master's degree in administration at USP, in addition to his doctorate and free-teaching in Controlling and Accounting. He did postdoctoral degrees at the American University of Illinois. In 2009, he became a full professor in the accounting and actuarial department at FEA. He was the first CEO of the National Association of Graduate Programs in Accounting Sciences. He acts in the line of research Controllership and Accounting with projects in the areas of business planning, company value, family companies, performance evaluation and management control.
Head of the Department of Controllership and Accounting at FEA USP for two periods (2006-2008 and 2008-2010), Fabio Frezatti was also twice-coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program in Controllership and Accounting at FEA. Prior to 1996 he was an executive, holding management and board positions in predominantly multinational companies. Since 2011, he is the editor of Accounting & Finance Magazine - USP. This year, he became vice chair of USP's Budget and Assets Committee.
FEA USP vice-dean, José Afonso Mazzon holds a degree in economics from Fundação Álvares Penteado. At FEA, he defended his master's degree and doctorate in management. He did post-doctorate in France, at the Conservatorie National des Arts and Métiers. In 2004, he defended free-professorship at FEA and in 2012 he became a full professor in the Administration department. Its main focus is the modeling of consumer behavior, working in machine learning, business intelligence, customer relationship management, marketing research and multivariate statistical analysis applied to marketing. He was responsible for the creation of the graduation course in Marketing at USP Leste. It also acts in social marketing, including the evaluation of social and governmental programs.
