ABSTRACT*

Achieving Sustainability performance seems to increasingly occupy the strategic agendas of organizations, but would they be investing in the 3 dimensions of Sustainability? The existing

literature brings research results focusing on another one of these dimensions, or even bring inconclusive results. The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between

Dynamic Capabilities in Innovation and Sustainability Performance (Environmental, Social and Economic). Our hypothesis is that the development of innovative dynamic capabilities

(Sensing, Seizing, Transforming) will favor long-term sustainability performance. Therefore, we used a longitudinal multiple linear regression analysis of data from the Innovation Research

in Brazil (PINTEC), for the period 2003-2014, with a sample of 48 productive sectors and 244 observations. As main findings of the research we highlight that the capabilities of Sensing and

Seizing favor the performance in Economic Sustainability, and not the same for Environmental and Social Sustainability. Also, that Transforming capability did not show absolute results on

any of the dimensions of Sustainability, showing partial association for Economic Sustainability. For the economic dimension, innovative dynamic capabilities favor

Sustainability and, our findings confirm that the economic mindset is still a priority.
